It's been a couple of years since Haruka's and Makoto's relationship began and their small engagement too; Makoto finished his college studies and finally made it into being a daycare employer. Finally having a stable job, the day came where he can afford the engagement ring he wanted to give to Haru. He would never forget the day Haru said yes, but always felt the guilt that he never gotten Haruka the proper engagement ring Haru always wanted until now. The excitement overfilled him as he finally searched their matching rings; the one with the sapphire jewel and a little message hidden within the band of the ring.
To be honest, Makoto was going to wing this engagement; the first time- it was embarrassing and the topic came out of a flustered Makoto. This time it was going to be more proper and serious, if Makoto didn't freak out about it first. The morning came where Makoto wanted to propose, he knew what he wanted to do and it wasn't going to be simple. Waking up next to Haruka, he caressed his cheeks and smiled softly; hoping today will only be a day of joy and fondness.
His plan was simple but he needed to act quick before Haru woke up in the morning to go to work thinking Makoto left early to go to work himself; pulling the small box out of hiding spot, Makoto ran out to where Haruka worked and ask his co-workers to place the small engagement box, flowers, andmackerel-shapedcard in Haru's workspace. They agreed to it and gave him the congratulations to this whole fiasco. Everything went out as planned and Makoto even left those special voice messages in the card and said:
"Haruka, you being in my life has been a dream for me, being your best friend, being your boyfriend, and now your fiancé! I couldn't ask for anything more: but please always remember
Don't go where I can't follow. You are my home, my heart, and everything. I love you so much, the amount of stars in the skies can't compare to my love for you. I'll be at bridge, waiting for an answer! "
It was so corny but worth it, Makoto now rushed back to the bridge, where sakura blossoms where falling down the sky and Makoto was dressed to the nines with heart-shaped balloons in his hands. Waiting to see if Haru was still up for this, he was nervous and his stomach felt it had knots in them. He clenched his phone looking at the time and checking to see if he would get some sort of text of rejection or not. But Makoto had hopes that this dream will become a reality, but either way he has no regrets to making the best decision he can make. "Please come soon Haru . . . " He muttered to himself, timid and nervous to what will happen.
i get really lazy w/ long rps thats all im so sorry }
Haru woke tired. It had been a long night of last minute decisions and checks for what the restaurant needed. As co-owner of the restaurant, now that the original owner had grown old, Haruka found himself spending less time in the kitchen and more time in the office back room. He didn't enjoy it so much, per say, but the few times where he got to whisk himself back into the kitchen, admits the flurries of orders and sizzling food was worth it. Today, however, he would be sitting behind the desk, listening to job interviews.
Rising slowly from the bed, he noted Makoto had already left. Huffing just slightly, but knowing how hard his friend worked, Haruka made the bed. He yawned. He brushed his hair - or at least, attempted to. He pulled on his clothes. He nearly fell asleep standing up. He finally made it downstairs to breakfast, only to see that their cat, Haru-chan, was eating the remains of the mackerel. Haruka just didn't care anymore. He supposed he'd be running on a near empty stomach today. He grabbed some fruit, his keys, kissed Haru-chan's soft head and made his way to the door.
Upon arriving at his workplace, Haruka was aware of a few snickers. Great, had he worn something backwards? No, it seemed not, as the snickers were gestured towards his workplace. Crap, maybe the people had already arrived? Yawning and attempting to look sharp, he glanced at everyone. One of the pastry chefs, a new girl, blushed when they made eye contact. Haruka was not vain, but he knew he was handsome. Well, at least, that's what Makoto said. His cheeks warmed at the thought of Makoto.
His door swinging open, Haru closed it behind him with a sigh. There was no one in here, thank god. He dropped his small bag on the far chair and collapsed onto his work table. Wait. His work table smelled really good, all of a sudden. There was also something brushing his fingers. Raising his head, he came eye to eye with flowers, bright, pretty flowers. There was also a small box brushing his fingers and a shakily cut mackerel card. Makoto. Opening the card, he read it with deeply reddening cheeks. Oh. So ... Oh. Nuts. Makoto wanted to meet him at the bridge, but he had interviews today! Squinting at the clock in the corner, he bit his lips. He'd have to be quick and hope the interviewees would understand.
Walking quickly towards the bridge, he hoped he wasn't too late. The interviewees had been hard to cancel. He held the small box in his hand.
oh oh ! if you just want to stop anytime soon go for it ;v;
i can you feel u on the long rps ; i'll just shorten it for you then sob sob 'v' }
Okay, it's been a little more than three hours and Haru still hasn't showed up to the bridge. Of course by now, Makoto probably expected that Haru just pushed this things aside and worked on something more important ( since Haruka was a busy man after all! ), but as the third hour was close by; Makoto was unsure to leave at this point.
Watching his clock tick and looking at the whispers people gave at the duration he stood there, Makoto gave up hope and just tied the balloons around his wrist while watching the flowers fall to the ground. There were only two things going on his mind: a) Haru doesn't want to do this or b) Haru is working hard and he's got a good reason to do so. Either way, Makoto wouldn't blame him, it probably would have been best if he visited Haruka instead of doing all this work.
Three hours and thirty minutes and Makoto still had hopes for Haru. He sat there quietly sipping to a cup of coffee, he bought at the vending machine. God, how he wished he didn't make such a big deal out of things sometimes.
It'd been nearly four hours. His boss, not willing to let him go, had shortened the interviews until Haru had threatened to quit. He was now running, out of breath and messy haired. Makoto, he begged desperately, please, please still be there! Generally he viewed Makoto's loyalty as stupid but brave, as he trusted people so much not to hurt him. Now he wanted nothing than to shower Makoto with love and apologies. He could only hope his 'yes' would serve to work.
There, a tuft of brown hair and droopy eyes. There was Makoto. Haru's breath hitched, eyes stinging. Makoto, even now, was still beautiful and his presence near knocked Haru off his feet. He moved closer, his blazer left back at the restaurant, his sleeves rolled up to his shoulders. He looked a mess, but as he stumbled to a stop in front of Makoto, he found he didn't care. "M-Makoto," he choked out.
